WooHoo, it’s Random Acts of Kindness Week.
We have a fantastic opportunity to spread a little extra love and kindness this week (9th-15th February), and on Monday 17th February, which is Random Acts of Kindness Day.
How amazing would it be if every one of us could do one extra kindness act this week… just imagine the kindness ripple effect it could create.
If you’d like some inspiration, here are some fun and easy ideas to help us all spread a little more kindness around our homes and communities this week:
- Tell loved ones you love them and why
- Support local businesses wherever you can
- Give everyone you interact with a genuine compliment
- Call an elderly relative or neighbour to check they’re ok
- Speak only kind words to others, and to yourself!
- Give a friend or loved one your full attention
- Hide a happy note for someone to find
- Cook extra and give to a neighbour-in-need
- Donate any spare items to a food bank
- Be gentle with yourself, you’re doing the best you can
A ‘Spreading A Little Kindness’ and ‘Drop Dead Generous’ Collaboration
I’m excited to be able to share my very own ‘Random Acts of Kindness Week’ experience, something I’ve always wanted to do.
When I heard the incredibly kind folk at ‘Drop Dead Generous’ were giving away $500 (£380) to 1,000 people to perform kindness acts, I couldn’t resist applying. Thankfully, my idea was selected and I’ve been excitedly planning it for this week.

I popped some money into a few envelopes, along with a kindness card, and have given them out to strangers. I visited a local food bank, a mother and toddler group, a Places of Welcome space, and, somewhere very personal to me, the Centre For Clinical Haematology at our local hospital.
I’m so thrilled that I got to do this, and really hope it’s helped brighten someone’s day, even if by just a little bit. It always amazes me just how much it lifts my spirits too!
I’d like to thank everyone at ‘Drop Dead Generous’ for selecting my idea and putting up the cash. You really are kindness rockstars!

I wish you a truly wonderful week of kindness. You can share your kindness experiences on our Kindness Community Facebook Page: Spreading A Little Kindness.
Thank you so much for spreading a little kindness. Let’s also remember to be kinder to ourselves as well, we are definitely worth it!
Love and gratitude,
