Goodbye, and Thank You – My Final Post

Hello lovelies, I hope you are well and travelling through the festive season as smoothly as possible.

When I started this blog over 10 years ago, I never imagined how far it would go – or how much it would mean to me.

What began as a small corner of the internet for sharing my journey of living with a chronic health condition, by practicing gratitude, mindfulness and kindness, slowly grew into something so much bigger: a space for connection and kindness, and a home for my monthly Kindness Calendars.

Along the way, I’ve been lucky enough to connect with so many of you, who’ve encouraged me, inspired me, and helped remind me why kindness matters. I’m so grateful to you for that.

Today, I’m closing this chapter.

This decision wasn’t made lightly. Unfortunately, rising web hosting and maintenance costs have made it no longer sustainable for me to continue running the blog. While that reality is disappointing, it feels like the right time to let this space rest and make room for what comes next.

Thank you for reading, commenting, sharing, and simply being here. Whether you’ve followed from the very beginning or stumbled upon a single post that resonated with you, your presence has mattered more than you may realise.

I’m especially grateful to those of you who took what you found here and carried it beyond this space – spreading kindness, compassion, and inspiration within your own communities. Knowing that these words encouraged even small acts of kindness is something I’ll always hold close.

There are so many moments from this journey that I’ll never forget, but one stands out in particular. In 2016, my second Kindness Advent Calendar unexpectedly went viral and has been downloaded over 1.75 million times!! The thought of all that extra kindness being shared in homes, schools, workplaces, and communities around the world is something I’ll carry with me forever.

I’m incredibly proud of what lives here – the ideas explored, the kindness stories told, and experiences shared, and the community that formed around them. Even though the blog is ending, the impact it has had on me, and hopefully on others, will stay.

While this blog is saying goodbye, the journey doesn’t have to end here. If you’d like to stay connected, I warmly invite you to join me on Facebook at: Spreading a Little Kindness (if you haven’t already). I’d love to see you there and will continue sharing thoughts, encouragement, and reminders that kindness – no matter how small – still matters.

Closes on Friday 26th December

One final note: if you’d like to download any of the 100+ kindness calendars I’ve created over the years, please do so before Friday 26th December, when the site will officially close. I’d love for these resources to continue spreading kindness long after this space is gone.

This isn’t goodbye to kindness, just goodbye to this space.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of the journey. You truly are kindness superstars.

With much love and gratitude,
Helen ♡

ps I’d really love to hear from you, but please go to my facebook page: Spreading A Lttle Kindness to share as this site will close on Friday 26th December

Kindness Advent Calendar 2025

Hello lovely,

I really hope you are keeping well, and have had a fantastic year so far.

As we step into the festive season, I’d like to gently invite us all to make kindness a big part of that – showing kindness to those around us, to those in our communities, and remembering to be kinder to ourselves too!

What is a Kindness Advent Calendar?

If this is your first Kindness Advent Calendar, I’d like to wish you a very warm welcome and thank you for joining us.

This works just like a normal advent calendar, but instead of the usual chocolate countdown (which, of course, we can still enjoy alongside this one), we are embracing the true spirit of Christmas by doing 25 random acts of festive kindness.

Every single act of kindness counts, and I’ve made the kindness act suggestions quick, easy and free (or low cost!), so anyone and everyone can join in.

You may like to mix it up, swap them around, adapt the acts to suit you better, or even create your own Kindness Acts (if you do, I’d love to hear about them).

Please do share these calendars to spread even more kindness as together we can make the world a kinder place.

How amazing would it be if every one of us could do one extra kindness act this month… just imagine the kindness ripple effect it could create.

Let’s get as many people as we can involved and invite family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues, classmates, our community to join us… and share all over social media 🙂

I’d like to invite lovely you and yours to join me in spreading a little kindness this month. To celebrate the 11th year of Kindness Advent Calendars, I thought it’d be fun to retro! The design and acts of kindness are the same as the first ever Kindness Advent Calendar!

I continue to receive so much positive feedback from parents and teachers about the Kindness Advent Calendar for Kids, I thought I’d create another one this year.

It’s such a fun and easy way to get children involved in spreading a little kindness in the lead up to Christmas, and a lovely way of showing them what a positive impact they can have on the world.

So here it is…

Wishing you a Dazzling December and a FAB-YULE-OUS festive season,

Thank you so much for spreading a little festive kindness.

Love and hugs, Helen ♡
